  • Mitheridge has appointed Richard Stone as Partner. He joins from his role as Co-Head of Real Estate at Reuben Brothers.
  • With global experience spanning credit and equity, Richard will lead the firm’s special situations strategy.
  • His appointment follows the arrival of Aniruddha Barua in May. Together, they deliver comprehensive expertise from deal sourcing to execution.

Mitheridge Capital Management (Mitheridge) has today announced the appointment of Richard Stone as Partner.

Richard will spearhead the firm’s special situations strategy, building on Mitheridge’s existing living sector practice, expanding the breadth of its sector expertise and harnessing his credit credentials.

He joins from Reuben Brothers, where he launched the business’s real estate lending platform and was Co-Head of Real Estate, operating across the UK, Europe and the US. He brings with him significant living and hospitality expertise, an extensive private capital network, and an international track record spanning debt and equity investments of over £3 billion.

Richard’s off-market origination and underwriting capabilities will complement the corporate finance and M&A experience of Aniruddha Barua, who joined the business as Partner and Head of Strategy and Capital Formation in May. Together, they offer comprehensive access and abilities across deal sourcing and execution.

Richard and William Yerburgh, Managing Partner at Mitheridge, have known each other for more than 25 years and have discussed the prospect of building a business together within Mitheridge for some time.

“I’ve long admired Mitheridge for its willingness and flexibility to capitalise on evolving market opportunities, and the special situations offering will wholly embody this approach. I am very excited by the prospect of growing the business in partnership with William and the rest of the team,” said Richard Stone, Partner at Mitheridge.

William Yerburgh, Managing Partner at Mitheridge, said: “Richard brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of identifying and executing complex investment opportunities. This skill set will form the foundation of the latest addition to our offering.”

“Furthermore, his experience across hospitality and credit will be invaluable as we broaden our capabilities while continuing to expand our living sector expertise.”

Mitheridge’s core strategy remains grounded in the living sector. Most recently, the firm announced the approval of plans for co-living developments in Brixton and Hackney Wick, together totalling more than 650 homes.
